Hodokete Hanarerue is a Japan-based visual artist whose practice spans painting and installation.
Her work seeks to create a space where the living and the departed might meet again, exploring the boundary between presence and absence, memory, and the fragmented emotional states connected to dissociation. She works primarily with subtle materials
and quiet visual forms to evoke moments where the boundary between presence and absence unravels.
Her recent projects have been shown in SICF26 (Spiral Independent Creators Festival), and her work continues to develop through an ongoing investigation of how emotional traces survive within the everyday. She is currently developing a new body of work that deepens her exploration of absence, fragmented memory, and the shifting boundaries of the self.
