Floating Water, Time Dispersing

2025 | 6 min 20 sec | 4K (3840 × 2160)

Single-channel video combining CG and live-action, color, sound

The video is constructed, much like memory, from fractured sequences of reality and fiction. Scenes emerge and vanish: furniture placed outdoors slowly sinking into sand; a white room, rendered in CG, floating above the water; moments of darkness. Visual noise gradually accumulates, dissolving the image into black, while abstract, low-frequency sound persists. Sound and image break apart independently, occasionally interrupting each other and slipping out of sync. Ruins surface, interrupted by fleeting images that appear and vanish like unstable recollections. Through these discontinuities, the work reflects on memory as fragmented and unstable—shaped as much by forgetting as by remembering. The presence of someone is suggested only faintly, through spaces left behind, where the boundary between presence and absence gradually unravels.
